Through the valley Öxnadalur at the base of Trollaskagi, Ring Road travellers are treated with the finest scenery between Reykjavik and Akureyri.
The whole area is excellent mountaineering country and the weather is as fine as you’re likely to encounter anywhere in the Icelandic mountains.

During summer, Engimýri is an ideal overnight stop for ring road travelers. It is also popular to stay for up to 3 nights to fully explore the stunning Northern Region.
